Have you checked out your options for auto or home insurance lately?
I know I'm guilty of not taking enough time to check out my options for auto insurance or home insurance. We are so busy that it's easy to forget about it until another year rolls around and it's time to pay for the insurance again. I came across Hartford's AARP auto and home insurance program. Did you know that AARP members save $375* on average when they switch. And auto insurance from The Hartford comes fully loaded with benefits. Unfortunately it's not available to me as I'm in Canada but I wanted to share this as it could be worth a look.
They cover auto, home and recreation vehicle insurance and so much more. For example this is something I had not thought of until I saw it on their site and that is home based business insurance. I'm not sure why I didn't think of that but being a home based business person this is definitely something I need to check out. I had no idea that there was even this type of insurance available.
Their website is extremely easy to navigate, it's clear and well laid out which I can't always say about other websites out there. I love that you can not only get a quote on auto insurance from their site but you can save that quote and retrieve it again later. That is a very handy tool as I've experienced those times where I was price shopping and would have a million windows open trying to compare and then the page would time out and the quotes were gone. For me a well laid out website with the information I need and handy tools like the auto insurance quotes are qualities I like to see in a website.
So if you're shopping for insurance stop by their website and check it out.
I used to work at an insurance office so I know a few things. I think that AARP probably does give its clients a good deal as it probably has a lot of push being an actual agency that caters to that age group. And thank goodness for that! I wish that all insurance was advocated for the benefit of the people on the road who are driving safely. Most of the general population does avoid accidents. Unfortunately a lot of politics comes into play, and then each insurance agency/provider has different policies, and then on top of that, the agent of your local office may have his/her own way to handle your premium rates. It's always good to check periodically to make sure that you are getting all the discounts you can manage to get.
I am glad to know that AARP can save you money on your Ins. I will definitely check this out. Thanks for info.
I am planning on looking for an independant agent who sells insurance for multiple companies. I think you can get better rates that rates that way without compromising coverage and service.
everyone definitely need to check for discounts with your current provider plus shop around for other providers
My ex husband is a Vietnam vet so quite a bit older and he has AARP insurance and since I have a card under him I have the option to also get this insurance.since reading your in depth review I will take another look thanks!
Everyone should check their insurance prices at least every couple of years. We had a corn burner fire that did a lot of smoke damage, the insurance company we have went above and beyond so we have decided that piece of mind is worth probably never switching. We have been with them for 14 years and this was the first major claim. When checking insurance out remember this and try to see what customers say about them.
HMMMM? Interesting! 🙂 thanks for the info.
Really good point and thanks for the info - I'm afraid to confess that I'm often too lazy to look around and then before you know it the premium is due and there is no time to look - I'm not old enough for AARP yet but I'm going to start looking for discounts now anyway. Thanks for the reminder
It is so easy to stay with your current agent and accept slight hikes every so often because it is just a pin to look around, but we have got to do it.
thanks!! I probably do deserve better insurance. I have just never checked into anyone else because it is too much of a hassle. Thanks for sharing!!
I do deserve better insurance
Love this article but on the other hand lower premium doesn't mean that you are always getting the best deal.............customer service should be one of the things you think of when you are purchasing insurance check out the company out what is their rating...............I am a licensed Insurance Agent and I am telling you cheaper doesn't always save you in some cases it can cost you because of the fine print......................
Thanks for the great info. I had never thought to check with them and we are looking for insurance now.
We are currently researching a new auto insurance policy. It's such a pain, and the rates are all really expensive!
Interesting article. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for sharing your information. I heard Hartford is good insurance but cost a lot. more than local insurances or internet insurance companies.
I love to check my insurance every yr or two just to check to see if our bills can be lowered.
i like AARP , i find there insurance prices are not high and they have so many great benefits to when you join them, like wonderful discounts to movies , restaurants, and so much more.. great review @tisonlyme143
Thank you for the great info. I've had the same insurance for almost 30 yrs. Now that my truck is older and I don't drive as much I had to call my insurance company to get a better deal. I'm going to check this out too. 🙂
We put that thing that hooks up in your car and sometimes when my husband was at work it said it went off! It was crazy! But we usually do check out different ways to see if we can save money with different insurances.
interesting article..thanks
I do not know why I did not think of AARP having good auto insurance prices. I am going to look into this! My father gets his healthcare through AARP and they are so good at their great program that is set up. I thank you for posting this information!
Just did this a few months again. No fun.
I may take this info into consideration in a few months when our current insurance is up for renewal.
I should ch in to it I add the same insurance for 40 years,Thanks for sharing.
THIS IS NICE TO KNOW--I CHECK MY CAR INSURANCE EVERY 12 MONTHS ..
I just got AARP in the mail, and you just reminded me to check it out. My son is 23 and his insurance is more than his new car payment and I think that is purely ridiculous seeing how he has never had a accident, I have tried to reduce it several times but until he turns 25 he will have to live with it. No wonder people hate insurance companies, maybe I can get him on AARP.
Thanks for the info. My boyfriend is always telling me to check for some better rates!!
We check our rates quarterly.
i have had aarp insurance for years and added my home to it reduced my rates, sure helps out the rates for vechile insurance is high..
Thanks for the info. My husband usually takes care of this, but I have been thinking it is about time to check for lower rates.
We are a little young for AARP just yet, but I did cut our house and car ins. in half last year by switching to State Farm! I was pretty excited about that!
nice
Thanks for the headsup. I am constantly getting stuff from AARP and don't respond, because when you are a certain age they are relentless!
Thanks for reminding me to check for a lower rate on my insurances. Very informative article.
Thanks for the info. I haven't checked out other companies lately, and know we could probably be getting a better deal. I'll have to check them out.
