Powered by Mom and family have a Sunday Breakfast Ritual & Recipes Too!

While we are normally not big breakfast eaters I do try to ensure we all eat something nutritious to start our day. Usually it's something quick like cereal, oatmeal, yogurt etc.. Sundays however are a different story, we all seem to have more of an appetite maybe that's because our stomachs are used to the ritual.

We have a very hearty breakfast indeed which can be anything from eggs, omelets, bacon, sausages, pancakes, waffles, hashbrowns you know all the hearty breakfast type of stuff. It's a time to sit down and enjoy each other's company, have a filling yet comforting breakfast and we don't worry that day about fats etc.. it's a day for well bacon usually lol.

Here's a picture of what we had

This morning even though our daughter was not home as she was at a sleepover hubby and I slept in (mind you we stayed up late too, kids are away we stay up and watch a movie lol) but we still did our hearty breakfast sans daughter.

Doesn't it look delicious, by the way those waffles were oven baked and are gluten free and my family loves them, we're not a gluten free family but I've been trying things out. GO HERE for the gluten-free waffle recipe or it can be for regular waffles too. Next to the waffles are mini heart shaped herb, garlic and cheese biscuits I made the day before in a baking frenzy super delicious and recipe to come for that too. As I mentioned bacon always seems to make the Sunday breakfast menu, sometimes it's mini sausages, bigger sausages sometimes it's bacon and sausages it's all good. I think it's become a ritual because we enjoy the togetherness and the food of course.  Whatever works to bring the family together and enjoying a good meal is always a bonus.

So what is your family ritual do you have any? Feel free to share we'd love to hear 🙂

  1. Oh my, this looks so delicious!! My family and I usually have a big breakfast on the weekends. During the week, we all get up early and rush out the door to work and school 🙂
