Set Up
This Six Meal Feeder is so neat, and a great addition to my pet family. When I took it out of the box, I opened up the bottom and put in 4 D batteries. They should last about 9 months according to PetSafe. Then I opened up the LCD screen and setting the timer was simple and fast. I set the feeder to dispense once a day for my cat, Griffin. He eats and eats if food is out. My other cat Tonka will only eat what he wants so food in his bowl lasts days.
Vacation Peace of Mind
We just went to the mountains for four days and this feeder was a life saver for Griffin. I was able to set it up for him so he had food everyday at five. Tonka who stays in another area of the house because Griffin bullies him, just had tons of food left out. He was able to eat what he wanted, but if Griffin had that option he would be a tubby boy with food only on day 1. My sister-in-law came by once or twice to just make sure the boys had water, and were okay. It was nice to be able to set the timer, so my cat had his food the same basic time as if we were there.
Mom's Thoughts
This feeder would be ideal for a small dog or cat. It can keep them from overeating, and gives you the option to give smaller meals throughout the day. This is great since my dogs always seem hungry. It is also good for your younger animals who need to eat frequently to keep up their energy. Now that we are back home I will probably take it from Griffin and use it for Charli, my 6 month old dachshund. She eats twice a day, and I never remember to feed her at the same time. I just have to make sure the other dogs do not eat her food if she is not near the feeder when it comes out. Even if I hit the button to dispense the food instead of setting the timer, it still saves me the time of getting her food out and measuring it at each meal.
I have a bunch of friends with only on dog, and this would be an epic Christmas present for them. It would also make a great gift for the furbaby in your home.

I have a cheaper version of this that was given to me when I adopted their 10 yr. old cat. I wish I knew what the number means for the bowl. I originally put 10, which was too much, then 5, still too much, now 1 or 2 depending on time of day. But what does the no. actually go to?
We have a lot of cats. This would be great for the ones that won't eat if the bowl is half empty. We also have a continuous flow water fountain that is in this same vein.
This is just what I need for my cats when we are gone for a long weekend. I worry about them overeating if the food is left out all at once.
thisd be a great gift for my dad, he's dad to 2 beautiful dogs
