Gather Free-Run Chicken Recipe by PetCurean is a hit!

Health conscious pet owners will love the organic, healthy ingredients found in the Gather free-run chicken recipe by PetCurean.

My family is very pet friendly. Ever since I was a kid I've been surrounded by all manner of critters, both big and small. My parents weren't picky about what kind of pets we had, so, we had everything ranging from snakes to exotic birds. For many years we even had outside pets like horses, goats, and chickens/ducks. Needless to say, I grew up to have a great capacity of love for animals and to this day we have our own little army of inside cats and dogs.

For many families like mine, our pets are considered more like family than anything else. While my mom is more into pet rescue and volunteering at her local spay & neuter clinic, I'm just happy staying home and bonding with the foster critters she brings home. Even though I know they aren't staying with us forever and only need a temporary home until they go to their furever homes, we tend to spoil our fosters just the same as we would our permanent furbabies. This includes constantly buying new bedding, the occasional sweater for cold months and spending a lot of time in the pet food isle checking out the vast collection of pet foods available to us.

We haven't had any recent fosters over the last several months so it's just been our usual crowd. As much as we love them, they can really be cause for aggravation because they just so happen to be a rather picky lot, especially the cats who all seem to believe they're royalty. This can sometimes be problematic because they've been known to turn their noses up at their fair share of cat foods we've brought home.

This has not been the case with Gather by PetCurean. My cats went nuts for the stuff as soon as I took it out of the box but that's normal because it seems like they're always hungry. The tip off actually came when I left the bags on the table to break up a fight between my little ones and I came back to find one bag chewed completely through and 2 of our furbabies happily eating what they could through the packaging.

One thing I loved above all else with the Gather pet food is the size of the pieces. A lot of cat food comes in bulky bits, making it hard for several of my cats to eat it successfully. We have several seniors who have a hard time chewing as well as an adolescent who has mega esophagus and who needs smaller bites, so the smaller bites were appreciated by not only myself but several of our furbabies as well.

We've been using the Gather Free-Run Chicken Recipe for our cats for almost 2 weeks, alternating between it and what we've had on hand and so far they've been some happy kitties. If you have a picky eater in your family or a senior with dental issues who could benefit from smaller bite sizes then I'd definitely recommend giving this one a try.

  1. This looks great for my 9 yr. old picky cat. I won't buy anything if it isn't healthy, but that isn't necessarily the food he prefers to eat. I think this would meet both our needs.

  4. My kitty is so so so very picky.
I have spent a small fortune on healthy food and she will not touch it! Period.
    I wish I could find a brand she'd like..more I wish I could get a sample to try first..so I don't waste money.
Maybe I'll give this brand a try

  5. My kitties are seniors now too, so the smaller bites would be appreciated. I'd never heard of this brand before, but I like that they dont add any fillers. Cats need Omega's too. I'm going to look for this brand next time we buy cat food.

  6. LOL I read this post because I thought it was FOR free range chickens. We have 15 chickens and I thought it was a new fancy chicken feed. Then I realized it was made of free range chickens. My chickens would NOT approve 😉 I bet my puppy would love it though.

  7. It just goes to show that when you put real, healthy food and food laced with chemicals and additives in front of an animal - they can tell the difference...quality is quality.

  8. I love that companies make such great food for our furry friends! I trust and count on these companies to do the right thing by them! I love that they think of the senior cats with the smaller food bites! If only our government treated seniors that well!!
I've never heard of this brand before, but I am sharing so that other pet owners know and I remember for future reference!
    Thanks for sharing!
